1.1 - Choosing a Business Idea

My thought was I could use AI to build a business as quickly as humanly possible.

💡 Tip[!tip]
It does NOT have to be an app. You can utilize AI to help build out service-based businesses by creating landing pages, logos, marketing material, etc.

There are always a few business ideas floating around in my head, but I only have so much time to execute. I’ve been strongly coupled with content creation, so any second I’m working on other things takes away from building content. So I was thinking I’d make some thing quick, give myself a week of full time effort to try to get something built that I can either sell, or make some money off of.

This was my original thought / idea but I ended up trashing it, which I’ll explain why later.

I was thinking up front payment to use the app, even a few dollars, make it the lowest barrier of entry but still cost money.

I thought through a variety of ideas, and I utilized AI to think through some of them with me, pros and cons, etc.

I ended up settling on an education app that would help you learn AI concepts in bite size chunks, with different tracts for different topics and it would track your progress and keep you accountable. The whole idea was to make learning something complicated as easy as humanly possible through diffusion (small steps each day that stack over time). This would be paired with my short form AI training lessons on YouTube.

A secondary monetization form would be to make it free but on account registration upsell to an AI course. Makes sense since people are coming to learn AI. This could be done INSTEAD of charging for the app, basically as a lead magnet that would get new people through organic means.

This is actually I think a decent idea, and I think I could build a usable MVP with the help of AI in a few days, no joke, because the interaction points are quite simple.

But there is another software idea I’ve been interested in building for a long time, and that’s what I truly want to build…I was hesitant at first because I didn’t want to use AI to build this, I wanted to build it all myself. However, i think this other idea is complex enough that it will still require a decent level of understanding from me, because I would not just release an MVP. it wouldn’t work as an easy cash grab but require a substantial amount of effort. The main difference is that this product would potentially help other people make money, and in that area there is a lot of competition.

I’ll share that app idea in a bit, but the choice here is:

  1. Quick cash grab, cheaper lead magnet → I think this could work with either a one time up front payment of say $3-19 dollars and if I ended up building a lot of features I could charge even more.
  2. Extensive app built off of recurring payments → The route I am going to go with.
